Good to Know Info

Here are links/resources for some great info! :)

First appointments and ultrasounds: Unless you have had previous a previous loss or losses, are seeing an RE, had IF treatment or previous ectopic pgcy you can expect to have your first ultrasound between 7-12 wks (generally women get from 6.5 days-10 wks) but that is the range and some aren’t seen for an u/s until 20 wks!
-all of that being said..if you happen to be getting an u/s in week 5 or even really early in week 6 its OKAY if all you see is a gest sac or gest and yolk sac and no fetal pole or HB yet…the heart doesn’t start to beat until sometime in week six, often closer to week 7

Betas: like the above, mostly women who have had previous losses get betas so unless your doctor mentions getting them (whether you have had a loss or not) you probably won’t get them and don’t need to….dont worry mama! If you want to compare double times or numbers you can go here: http://betabase.info/

Having NO symptoms yet? Totally normal...some women never get m/s or other symptoms…I know they can be reassuring to have symptoms but it isn’t a sign of something bad happening just because you don’t have any yet...

Major changes in bowels! -also totally normal! Your hormones are going crazy attempting to get used to and support the pregnancy, fluctuations in certain hormones directly affect your bowels…if you have diarrhea just make sure you drink LOTS of fluids…you should be drinking more water than usual anyway especially now that you are pg. Constipation? Try adding fiber gradually like Metamucil to your water (this is safe)….
